Web-Based, Preamp-Design System

The Basic Design Script (Win XP) automates many decisions. This script designs over 20 different amplifiers. Use this JavaScript script with Windows XP. (You must enable JavaScript.)

Windows XP only supports the calculators below if you download Sun's Java virtual machine. Use the red "JVM FOR FREE" button. The download is free.

The Basic Design Applet automates many decisions. This applet can design over 20 different amplifiers. Requires Sun's JVM.

The Advanced Design Applet allows you more control. It also graphs the unloaded frequency response of the resulting circuit. You can design hundreds or thousands of amplifiers with this applet. Multi-stage amplifiers from this applet can achieve stable gains in the millions. Requires Sun's JVM.

Find Loaded Gain. The third applet graphs amplifier response under user-specified loads. Loaded gain tends to be smaller than the unloaded figure from the advanced design program. Check your amplifier design with this third applet. The resulting frequency response appears on a graph. Graph resolution self-configures based on user input. The applet doesn't graph gain figures of less than one. Requires Sun's JVM.
